New Year's Eve Date Night!

One of my Christmas presents, which you will see when I finally get the Christmas blog up, was a couple of date nights from my hubby! One of them was a date to the Kimball Art Museum, where he had scored a couple of tickets to the Mayan exhibit. We decided tonight was a great night for that and headed off. When we got there, we headed over to The Modern like we always do (because we forget Kimball is across the street).

We got to see the pretty flames before we headed across the street. As we were crossing the street though, a couple that was on their way back from Kimball let us know that it was closed. We should have called first, I guess. (In our defense, the website only said that they were closed tomorrow.) So we decided to go eat at Texas de Brazil instead. We had heard about it from Libby and Josh, but hadn't ever eaten there.

Inside is gorgeous! (I stole these photos from Google images...it was way too classy in there for me to be whipping out my own camera!)

The restaurant itself is three stories high and there is an amazing salad bar with a ginormous flower arrangement in the middle of the first floor. Yum, yum, yum!!

Let's just say it was all AMAZING!! They bring around meat constantly...you have to flip your card to red if you want them to stop!

We were so full that we had to pass on dessert! Back at home with Ian, we pulled out our Happy New Year's hats from last year.

He wasn't too thrilled about them.

At midnight, we went outside to see if anyone was making noise. We had been hearing little poppers, but there wasn't a soul to be seen! Guess it was a good thing Ian brought his book with him...no one was making noise.

James changed the tree from a Christmas tree to a Happy New Year tree (you can see the reflection of the big tree in the mirror).

Happy New Year's, everyone! May it be a blessed year!
