Ah-choo!

Sigh...spring allergies are getting the best of me. It's been a long month and a half with everything blooming. Today, it all caught up with me and just about bowled me over. I spent most of the day in bed. My sweet hubby went to the store for a few things and came back with these bright, cheerful flowers for me.

My little buddy spent a lot of time hanging out with Daddy today and they both left me this sweet message.

It's so nice to be taken care of when I don't feel well! Hopefully soon I will have pictures from this last week in Colorado posted.

Building Bridges

Ian is a huge fan of bridges. So, when we are home without any wonderful bridges to run across, he makes his own.

What could be more fun than watching Veggie Tales as a bridge? :-)

A Walking We Will Go

Ian LOVES to go for walks. He has a daily minimum of 2 one hour walks. If he doesn't get his walks, he doesn't sleep well and gets to be very clingy and demanding. So it is in all of our best interest to make sure we get our little munchkin outside twice a day. A couple of weeks ago, we were all able to go together for a nice long walk and took pictures of our outing. Here's a little photo journey of what we do twice a day, almost everyday.

Ian's wagon now has a permanent parking spot in our front hall, so Ian will climb in his wagon to let us know he is ready for his walk. We pull him out the front door and start down the sidewalk.

After throwing rocks in the creek, we head upstream to this fun bridge.

If he hasn't already pulled the wagon most of the way, Ian will jump out by this point and take charge of his little wagon buddy.

Then we go back and forth over the bridge about twenty times. Bridges are such fun toys for little boys!

A little ways up is another park that we recently discovered. Ian loves riding on the horse!

Whee!

This park has lots of fun double slides.

And lots of cool big rocks.

After running over both nearby bridges several times, we head back through the tunnel to go home. (The tunnel actually runs under the main road.)

Our camera doesn't do this justice. Walking through the tunnel and seeing the green grass and pretty creek is one of my favorite views of the entire trip.

Back closer to home, we stop by another playground.

And then we're off in a different direction to run down really big hills!

Yay! Going downhill again. Ian loves the challenge of this steep hill!

We live in an amazing neighborhood for Ian. He loves all the bridges and gets so excited to run back and forth over them. He's actually jumping up and down in this picture - both feet are in the air!

Haha - something only a Daddy would do! James picked up green slime from the pond to show Ian.

And, of course, our little boy had to touch it. I'm just glad I wasn't required to handle it!

And now you know why I don't blog as often...in addition to work and school, I spend a good part of my day outside with a nature-loving, bridge-hopping, wagon-pulling little boy. I wouldn't change it for the world though!

Mommy's Lil Buddy

This semester has been/is crazy busy for us! I'm sure you've been able to tell that by the lack of regular posting. Fortunately, my little buddy and I still have been able to spend lots of time together. We start our morning with about thirty minutes of cuddling while watching Veggie Tales, eat breakfast, cuddle some more, and go for a long walk before lunch and nap time. After nap, sometimes we go for another walk or do errands. Then I make dinner and am off to work or school on most nights. Tonight I was lucky enough to get done with my project presentation prep early enough to get back home before Ian went to bed.

So we had a before bedtime snack of popcorn. He devoured more than half the bowl. (Haha...Daddy took our picture without us knowing!)

After Daddy gave him a good bath, my lil monster came and found me like he always does so I could go get him ready for bed.

Sweet dreams, little guy!

I'm so glad you are my little buddy. I know one day you won't want to sit in my lap and cuddle or be so excited when I make you a bowl of popcorn, so I am treasuring these moments now. I love you, little man!

Happy Bat Day!

James turned 30 today, and in honor of his big day, James' mom helped me throw him a family Batman themed surprise party. Karin, James' mom, is super creative and came up with all sorts of wonderful ideas for his Batman birthday party.

I have about 70 pages of reading I have to get done for a class presentation calling my name, so I will have to post the rest of the pictures later. In the meantime, here's a (slighty foggy from the fog machine) picture of James' birthday cake and presents from the surprise party.

Karin had a cool bat cave, lots of themed Batman food, and a bunch of other fun stuff...I promise I'll post more pictures soon!

Today was wonderful. It was a great way to spend James' actual birthday. It was the first day both of us have been able to be home all day in over three weeks and we had great family time today. Tonight we ordered pizza and let Daddy blow out his candles (again!) on the Cinnastix.

It's official...Daddy is now in his thirties!

Mommy had saved one of Daddy's presents for him to open today.

Spiderman and Batman are very good friends, by the way.

Daddy got the Peanuts Collection from 1969-1970. It'll make for some fun reading this week. Happy Birthday, Sweetheart! You mean the world to me and I am looking forward to this next decade with you!
