Since Ian's birthday is on Monday, we scheduled his party for the Saturday beforehand. We were thrilled that many of our family and a few friends could make it this year. Ian is much more aware of birthdays and we were pretty sure he would be excited about having one of his own.
Daddy and Ian mixed the cake batter this afternoon. It was Betty Crocker's gluten free cake mix with gluten free, dairy free chocolate chips added in!
Daddy offered Ian a taste and Ian wasn't going to turn that down!
Ooo...this is good!
Like, really good!!! Like, amazingly good!
Daddy had a train cake when he was three years old and he wanted Ian to have one too. So Mommy frosted the train cars and Daddy put the finishing touches on each one.
Percy flashlight locomotive, coal car, M&M car, gumdrop car, and caboose!
Justin nicely offered to take pictures at the party, so those will show up in a later post. After the party, Maci, Ace, Aunt Kt, Grandaddy, and Grammy Jen came back to the house for a while. Maci is getting so big!! We loved seeing this precious little girl!
While playing in Ian's room, Ace noticed his fireman costumes and both of the boys dressed up. Here they are looking at pictures with Grammy Jen.
So cute! These cousins are such good buddies!
Grandaddy and Grammy Jen got Ian a t-ball stand/ball thrower. Grandaddy gave Ian the rundown.
And it's out of the park! (At least out of the kitchen!)
Ian had a blast hitting a few balls on his own.
Our sweet little almost three year old had such a good time that he fell asleep in Mommy's lap watching his new Dumbo DVD from Gramma K after only ten minutes!
Thanks for such a great 3rd birthday party for our little man, everyone! Ian had a blast and keeps talking about the party and everyone who came!
The train cake is awesome!
