Giggles and Smiles

Today Ian and I were playing "Giddyap Horsie", which is a game Aunt Katie taught us. It involves bouncing the baby while saying, "Giddyap, horsie! Go to town. Giddyap, horsie! Don't fall doooooooowwwwn!" On the "down" part, you lean the baby back. Ian had just eaten not too long ago (but long enough so the bouncing wouldn't upset his tummy) and was in a particularly good mood. He loved playing this game today! Normally he'll flash us some cute toothless grins, but today he actually started laughing. Then he started doing the shrieking type of laughing little kids do. That was the first time I ever heard him laugh like that. Unforunately, I was the only one home, so I didn't get to video it. It was such fun baby bonding time!

  1. Allie and Aiden love a version of this. We still play it when we are somewhere we have to wait a long time. We do ours like this "To market, to market to buy a fat pig.... home again, home again, jiggity jig. To Market to market to buy a fat hog, home again home again jiggity jog. To market to market to buy a new gown, home again home again, ooopssie, horsey fell down." Each time you start over with to market, you go a little faster. The fat pig is slow, the fat hog is medium, and the gown is fast. Allie and Aiden like it really fast where they are bouncing all over the place off my knees. When the horsie falls down, you slide them down your legs or let them fall between. :)
