Lil Monster Goes Trick-or-Treating

While I was off at work tonight, Daddy took Ian trick-or-treating. I was sad to miss it, but Daddy got some good pictures!

He and Ian headed off at about 6:30pm.

Ian was so excited when they rang the first doorbell! He actually walked right into their house when they opened their door...haha! He thought that was great fun. Unfortunately, their Daddy wasn't back from the store with candy yet, so Ian just got a trick, not a treat. James then decided 6:30 might be too early for trick-or-treating and he and Ian just walked around for a bit. (News to me...I would have thought 6:30 was on the later side!)

Around 7pm, they saw other kiddos out and about and tried their hand at trick-or-treating again. This time, Ian was quite a bit more shy and wasn't so sure about all of it. James said at first Ian didn't even hardly notice the candy in his bucket. So, like a good Daddy, James showed him a little Snickers bar and a little 1000 Grand bar. Ian was hooked! He clutched his those candy bars in his little hands and walked around holding them for the rest of the night. At least, when he was walking anyways. After a few houses, Ian was ready for Daddy to carry him!

Awww...poor little monster! Done with trick-or-treating after only five or six houses! He and Daddy came back home to hand out candy to the other trick-or-treaters.

So cute...trying to eat his candy through the wrapper and take off his hat at the same time.

Daddy pulled a camp chair out front to the driveway so he and Ian could sit and pass out candy. He also took the wrapper off of Ian's Snicker bar so he could actually eat it instead of just suck on it through the wrapper. Daddy said Ian did soooooo good. He just sat there, watched the trick-or-treaters, and ate his candy. Love the little messy face!

And messy hands!! (As you can see from this photo, Daddy didn't dress up. He's pretty stinkin' handsome as just himself!)

After a bit, Daddy moved the chair to the front porch and left the bowl of candy on it so he could take Ian inside and give him a bath. Ian did a great job washing all of the chocolate off himself!

Daddy said to be sure and put on the blog that Ian DID brush his teeth too!

Such a good toothbrusher! We really are thankful for that.

Well little man, it certainly looks like you and Daddy had fun! Next year Mommy will be more careful and not schedule work during trick-or-treating!
