Two Busy Boys!
Remember Libby? She and her hubby Josh were nice enough to lend us Noah for a play date while they went out this afternoon. Ian loves having friends over and he loves playing with Noah, so it was a perfect combination for a great afternoon!
When Libby, Josh, and Noah arrived, Noah immediately discovered Ian's stash of hats/helmets. He wasted no time in dressing his family up!
Aren't they adorable?! Noah must have thought so too because he insisted his Mommy and Daddy wear their hats as they left!
Fairly soon after J & L left, the boys and I headed off to the park. It was hilarious to see that Noah stopped to play with every little thing Ian always plays with on the way to the park - the spot at this one fence, the shiny rocks on the curb, the little concrete bump in the sidewalk. In fact, the fence and the concrete bump were the only things Ian wanted to play with - otherwise he wanted to be carried. Thank goodness Noah was such a good walker!
We stopped at Ian's favorite little trail right by the park. However, Ian STILL wanted to be carried, so we didn't venture too far down the trail.
Running free at the park. Gotta love those tails!
Ahh! At last - the best part of the park! Acorns! And even more fun is dropping them through the little holes on the water meter cover.
Ian hadn't taken a good nap and was pretty fussy the whole way to the park, but those acorns sure cheered him right up! Noah was only too happy to join him in acorn hunting and dropping.
Great team work! Filling up that water meter hole with tons of acorns.
Checking out the park.
Such a cutie!
Ha - after all that fussing, there's a smile!
Aww...I love this! Playing so good together.
I'm getting on to Ian for trying to taste the acorns...Noah looks like he wonders if he should try it or not...haha.
Precious!
A couple of months ago, Ian was playing with acorns when Eli, the little boy in the middle, showed him how to drop them down the water meter covers. I'm sure the water meter guys are forever grateful for Ian's newfound skill...haha. Anyways, Eli and his Grandpa were at the park today and Eli joined right in the acorn playing.
Noah was such a brave little climber. He was ready to the ford the fish on his own! (All three of us ended up going across it together.)
Haha - Eli climbed up the curly slide and met the boys at the top! Then all four of us slid down together!
The boys were starting to get hungry, so we headed back home after a bit. Noah was sooo sweet and well-behaved, but Ian kept throwing fits on the way home. At one point, I was carrying both boys! Good workout for me! Fortunately, as my arms were giving out, the boys decided they were okay walking.
Back at home, I was getting dinner ready and looked over to see both boys sweetly reading books!
Haha - I managed to get this cute shot of Noah walking over with his big book. He wanted to read it together, but didn't want to stop reading while he came into the kitchen.
Dinner and a show! Chicken nuggets and Veggie Tales. (If you click to make this picture large, Noah actually looks happy...not sure why the smaller picture makes him look upset.)
After dinner, we were going to do a little art project that involved paint, so I took the boys' clothes off so they didn't get paint on them. They turned into such different kiddos without their clothes...energy galore! (Or maybe it was the brownie bites they had for dessert...haha!) The boys tore through the house in an incredibly fun game of chase.
Hehe - look at that smile!
Tickle, tickle, tickle! Caught you!
Haha - Ian caught Mommy and Noah!
Putting his head down and grinning - leaning in to tackle Mommy.
My camera wasn't fast enough, but Ian was giving Noah hugs.
Happy boy!
Climbing over each other.
Boing!! Noah threw a ball around for them to chase.
We ended up in our bedroom, so of course we had to have a pillow fight!!
Where's Noah?
There he is!
Wahaha! Tumbling over the bed!
Whee!
We started piling the pillows on.
Love this smile!!
Hiding under the pillows.
Whoa!! Tons of pillows stacked on Noah!
Ian was more than happy to pull them all off!
Fun times.
Peek-a-boo!
They were both laying on the couch and then Ian popped up right as I took the picture.
Such a little goofball!
Adorable little foreman-chef!
Noah gave up the construction business and took up music instead.
After we'd run off most of that energy, we got started on our little art project. Noah had the best time getting his hand painted for his turkey!
I knew Noah would do a great job, but I didn't expect Ian to hold still. So I was pleasantly surprised at how interested he was in getting his hand painted.
Haha - Ian still managed to get paint everywhere though and wasn't too happy about being cleaned off.
After our Thanksgiving turkeys were done, we put the boys in the tub for a fun bubble bath.
Having fun with their blue cups.
Putting duckies on the edge of the tub.
Cute little bubbley boys.
Rawr!!! Noah the dinosaur getting dried off!
Hehe - Noah was so cute bouncing around on the bed with his hoodie towel.
James helped me get this super cute shot of the boys...I love it! Someday when they are all grown up, we'll have to show this in church to everyone. :-)
Ta-da!! After bath time, we looked at our art projects and found they were done drying! Aren't they cute little turkeys? I have to thank Noah for helping me figure out how to do the feathers. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but he just stuck his little finger in the paint and put little finger-print feathers in all the right spots with all the right colors! Smart boy!
They make my bar look nice and festive!
A little down time watching Veggie Tales before the evening was over.
Josh and Libby - thank you so much for lending us Noah! We had such a good time! Ian and I haven't played and laughed that hard in a while! We'll have to do it again soon!
