As many of you know, James is the fourth in a long line of James Emory's. He has always wanted to have a "Five" and even wanted to just call him "Five" (the other James' related nicknames are taken by I, II, and III). When we learned we were having a boy, we had
many discussions over what to call number Five. I was fine with passing on the name, but I was NOT going to have his official nickname be "Five". The same day we had the sonogram, we were driving back and James came up with "Ian" from the last three letters of our last name. It means "God is gracious", and we loved that. It totally described God's care of us during that difficult time and difficult pregnancy. So, after all that hullabullo, we finally had our little Ian (with Daddy having permission to call him "Five" whenver he wanted to).
When Ian was born, Gramma K gave him a cute little onesie that says "Christian V" on the back. It is very similar to the shirt James had when he was litlte that said "James Emory IV" on it. We've been waiting until Ian got big enough to wear his onesie, and we can now finally show off "Five" wearing his 5 shirt.

Our cute little Five.

This is my favorite picture of Five wearing 5!
