Snow Day #1

Well, it's been an interesting four days around here! It all started Tuesday morning when we woke up to this...

Snow! A thunderstorm swept several states, including ours. The snow pelted down hard enough to stick to the screen door!

School was canceled and everyone bundled up for a little fun outside. Ian didn't remember the snow from last year and wasn't too sure what to think about this cold weather!

We headed to the back yard for a bit. The snow was even deeper back there!

Seriously, Mom...what is this stuff?

By the time the thunderstorm had done it's worst, our street was a nice big skating rink.

I don't know that I've seen ice that thick in a long time!

It made cool wavy patterns though. I would have loved to watch this freeze in slow motion (from the comfort of my warm house...haha).

Back inside, we all had hot chocolate (or warm chocolate if you were Ian).

Yum! And the hot chocolate was pretty good too. (Sorry, Sweetie...I couldn't resist! ;) )

Of course, we had to have popcorn to go with our hot chocolate. Ian loves popcorn, just like his Momma!

I guess this bag wasn't too tasty...he ended up going for his toe instead.

Before bed, we played with bubbles that Daddy had gotten Ian a while back.

All in all, it was a pretty laid back day. Little did we know what the next day would bring!
