Ian's great-grandmas are wonderful about sending him books. This week, he got another wonderful surprise in the mail! After bath time tonight, I handed Ian his present.
Ian loves opening presents! (Seriously, who doesn't?!)
He is a very careful un-wrapper. Each piece of paper must be all the way off the present before he will play with/look at the present.
And by all the way off, I mean ALL the way off.
Grandma Mary sent Ian this AMAZING book called
Simple First Words: Let's Sign. He was as excited about it as I was!

This book is awesome by itself, but the really amazing thing is that it comes with sign flashcards! There is a picture of the object on one side and a picture of a person making the sign on the other. How cool is that??? I've wanted something like this for Ian but had no idea where to get it!
Of course, we had to lay out all the flashcards. :-)
Checking the other end of the line to see what is there.
Water! I know this one! (Actually, I was pleasantly surprised to see that he knew most of them. I haven't counted his signs in a while. He doesn't yet sign them straight off the card, so I am looking forward to countless hours of fun learning to do that!)
