No - Baby!

Ian has reached the "me do it!" stage. Except for saying "me do it", his version is "no - baby!". I think it is super cute how he refers to himself as baby (he started that a few months ago). However, it can be rather confusing to anyone who doesn't know what that means. Even Daddy the other day needed an interpreter when Ian started screaming "NO - BABY!" as Daddy was trying to put him in his car seat. Ian thinks he is quite a big boy and can manage climbing into his car seat all by himself!

It's rare that I have the camera around right when Ian is asserting his independence, but I was finally able to grab the video camera the other day during a "no - baby" moment.

"No - baby" moments are showing up more and more! And they often sound like, "NO - baby, baby, Baby, BABY!!" if he is being particularly insistent. Whether it's making chocolate milk, washing his hands, pressing play on the DVD player, using the key to unlock the car, or getting into his car seat, Ian knows he can do it by himself and isn't going to stand for anyone trying to help him!
