Wow! Hard to believe it's been a year since we had James'
Batman-themed birthday party. This year, we kept things a bit simpler, but Gramma K was just as big of a help as she was last year! She and Steve braved rush hour traffic to come out and celebrate with us.
Gramma K made James' favorite Hershey bar cake with maple frosting and Ian got to help her decorate it. He was thrilled to "sprinkle, sprinkle, sprinkle"!

Working on their masterpiece.

Ta-da! Finished cake!

While dinner was cooking, Ian and Gramma K whipped up a side of play-do waffles.

Presents!

Decorations! I forgot to add the "3" in front of the one on Ian's old 1st Birthday sign. Oh well - I think we all know Daddy is 31 this year anyways!

Gramma K made fried chicken - Daddy's favorite. While it was cooking, Ian took her for a spin on his favorite spinny chair.

We often spin Ian on that chair and count our spins (it's actually really good for neurological development!), so he counted Gramma K's spins too.

Yum...Daddy, I know you got those M&M's just for me!

Posing with the presents.

Blowing out candles!

Love, love, love this pic!

Sweet boy hanging out with his Daddy watching the new Veggie Tales that arrived in the mail today.

Now both my boys are cuddled up in bed asleep. I wish I could get a picture without waking them up. Ian is snuggled right up to Daddy and is sharing his pillow!
Happy Birthday, Sweetheart! I can't even begin to imagine my life without you! Thank you for being such a wonderful father and husband. I really look forward to what this year has to bring and pray that it will be filled with blessing after blessing! Love you!
You do such a wonderful job Laura of chronicaling events both large and small. We had such a great time celebrating James' birthday with you guys.
