Birthday Evening - Party Prep!

After a good lunch, we loaded everyone back into our respective cars. James, Ian, and I headed home so Ian could take a nap and I could grab some last minute party supplies. We all met up at Nana's later that evening. Allie and I had made a couple of runs to Target, and on the last run we picked up a couple of packs of balloon animal balloons. The kiddos had a blast blowing up balloons with Mr. Frank while Ian was eating. Turns out he is a pretty good balloon animal hat maker!

I must have been distracted by the balloon animal art and not feeding Ian fast enough because the next thing I know, I look down and see Ian grab the spoon out of the yogurt container and make a wild swing for his mouth! He managed to get the spoon in his mouth in one crazy swoop that flung yogurt everywhere!

So, of course, I called for Liz and James to come see so they could video tape it for me. I couldn't believe he was feeding himself yogurt! Hunger sure is a good motivator!

He was being a super sweet little boy and sharing with his Auntie Liz too.

Meanwhile Mr. Frank and Allie were bonding over balloons and providing their own entertainment!

It turned out to be a great thing that Allie and I had gotten the balloon animal sets because each set came with a little balloon air pump. We definitely needed those to blow up the 100 little balloons with air to go in the inflatable treasure chest. (We buried little pirate ducks at the bottom for the kids to find.)

Those little balloons had a mind of their own!

The more balloons we put in there, the more they started to behave. And then when we got the camera out, they really started to behave! Haha - they are just like children...stop their silly antics once the camera is on them! But, we finally got a little video of those crazy balloons!

Happy, happy birthday again little man!! Tomorrow is the big party day!

  2. I can't wait!! It's so fun reading your blog and seeing what to expect next! I remember when Noah ate applesauce on his own the first time. I just couldn't help but think of that with Ian. Now I'm waiting for Ian to sit in a chair like a big boy like Noah does!
