We started out their time here with a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo. Laura (doesn't she have a cool name!?) and Dan were trying to get Ian to look at the camera, but he was much too busy being cool looking at them.

Dan and Laura's Fantabulous Visit - Day 1
Back in January, I was pleasantly surprised to get an e-mail from a long-time friend of mine saying she and her hubby wanted to come visit this spring. They live very far away and I don't get to see them often...it's been several years since the last time we got together. Ian was very excited to meet them and enjoyed having company over Memorial Day weekend!

Cheese!
Right inside the entrance to the zoo. Dan remarked that when anyone asked him about the trip, he was going to say that Texas was squinty. We definitely had a lot of bright sun while they were here!
The Laura's and Ian.
I think this guy was a Mandalin, but I could be wrong. He had a cool looking nose and a purple tush (didn't get a pix of that tho...sorry to disappoint you!).
Hehe...this guy reminded me so much of my hubby I had to take a picture! That's how hubby sleeps too!
This was a friendly little fellow. He came right up to the glass and knocked on it a couple of times. When he couldn't get through, he plopped down to keep Ian company.
For cousin Allie, who loves giraffes - a picture of a couple of long necked giraffes.
Flamingos!
Across the way, a friendly old tortoise came up to say hi to all the visitors.
As we were leaving the area, a few of the zoo staff members came out with a few little flamingos to teach them how to swim. So of course we had to stay and take pictures!
All zonked out after the zoo!
That evening, after Daddy got off work, we went to go play Putt-Putt. It's kind of a fuzzy picture, but I had to include it! Fuzzy Putt-Putt can be fun! ;-)
Awww...this picture makes me smile! What a cute couple!
Hehe...we couldn't resist playing around with all the safari animals at the Putt-Putt place. I mean really, what bettter way to practice my polo form than atop a fake zebra?
James' polo form is apparently in tip-top shape, so he just preferred to go for an elephant ride.
Daddy tried to show Ian how to play...
...but poor Ian wasn't so sure about that! There goes our millions from having a pro-golfer in the family. Oh well.
Putting with Mommy. He did a little better this way.
Our "Batman" guys!
Daddy and Ian taming the baby rhino!
I asked Dan and Laura if they wanted to tame the momma rhino and this is the response I got! I am guessing that was a "no"...hehe.
Laura's polo form looks great! Go baby rhino!
