Dan and Laura's Fantabulous Visit - Days 3-4

On Friday, we decided to head to the Fort Worth water gardens. I had been there once a long time ago and knew it was cool to see even if it wasn't an all day thing. We were all still kind of worn out from the busy first full day and not quite up for doing another full day of activities anyways.

On the way there, Ian fell asleep in new big boy car seat. Since his car seat no longer works as a carrier, Daddy very carefully got him out of his seat and into his stroller without waking him up! Ian NEVER sleeps in his stroller, so I had to take a picture of Daddy's great accomplishment!

Unfortunately, ALL of the water was turned off. I totally had not expected that. All of the research I had done said that the gardens were up and running. So here's a picture of the waterless waterfall entrance.

The quiet pool (as seen from up top).

A cool building by the gardens.

I think this is so cute. When we got back to my mom's house, Dan and Ian had some chill time. Poor buddy's teeth were really hurting! Ian was so thankful to have such good friends around to keep his mind off of his teeth. In fact, one of the days, he fell asleep in his car seat holding onto Dan's hand! It was so precious, but I didn't get a picture of it.

On Saturday before their flight left, we went by the Dallas Arboretum. These flowers were so pretty with all the white butterflies flitting in and out!

This time, there was a living statue of a bunny!

Dan and Laura in front of the stairs to the sunken garden. That garden is definitely one of my favorites!

Another personal favorite - the misting garden!

Ian enjoyed the mist too - it felt good on such a hot day!

Still checking out the cool mist.

Another picture of my cutie-patootie!

Another water wall.

At Frank's suggestion, we then headed over to the Gaylord hotel to look at all the fun stuff they have their. You can see the Alamo architecture in the background. The theme right now is Alice in Wonderland and a couple of guys were working on character sand sculptures.

I've been to the Gaylord before, but I had never seen this outdoor vineyard. Pretty cool!

Another living statue! This one wasn't made out of grass though. S/he did a great job waving to Ian and keeping him entertained!

After our tour, we had to take Dan and Laura back to the airport. We will definitely miss them! Ian had such a good time having friends around!
