On the 2nd Day of Christmas...

...the mailman brought to us three Christmas cards and a package from Grandma Mary!

We don't have many Christmas decorations up yet, so the sparse Charlie Brown tree is actually quite appropriate. The gifts and cards in the mail were a fun distraction from today. James, Ian, and I all have pretty bad colds. James and mine have gotten worse today, and it was obvious Ian wasn't feeling well. He spent most of the day laying down watching Veggie Tales.

He rarely lays or sits down for extended periods of time! It was really, really, really wonderful for me! I was able to get all of my ESL class observation write-ups done that are due on Wednesday. I wish we all felt better, but I am very thankful I made some good progress today.

Poor James didn't feel well at all. He took some medicine and was able to hang out a bit this evening. Ian was still having fun with his present from yesterday. We flipped the table over and showed him how to stack the lego-like blocks on it.

Ha! I didn't notice until I was going through pictures, but I caught Daddy showing how he really felt on camera. For all the other pictures, he was trying to look attentive and interested (which he was, he just didn't feel good).

Ian loves the little play phone that came with his lights n sound table. He carried it around for a good part of the evening.

I think it is so cute how he carries it! It's tucked into his shoulder, not quite on his ear.

Earlier this afternoon, I got this cute video of Ian talking on his phone. He has a very distinct vocal pattern when he talks. And, of course, we find it absolutely adorable! His Veggie Tales movie was just finished up, and it is rather loud in the background. I was afraid if I turned it down, he would stop talking. Of course, once he noticed I had the camera, he lost all interest in talking on the phone!

Here's hoping we get over our colds quickly! But, if not, it will be a good excuse to open some wonderful presents from Grandma Mary early!! Hehe... :-)
