On the 6th Day of Christmas...
...my sweetie gave to me one partially decorated Christmas tree!
But I'm getting ahead of myself! James finished his last final this morning and got home about lunch time. We ate lunch and then Ian pulled us into the guest room, one of his favorite places to play. There is currently a soft, contour pillow on the floor in there that he loves laying on. It's so cute. He'll lay down on it by himself or with us and say, "Awww."
Of course, he loves to lay on Mommy too. Mommy is nice and soft. Maybe that will change once Mommy gets rock hard abs. ;-)
He never lays still for long though. After a few seconds, he is up and running!
He LOVES getting tickled. He's sitting on Daddy and getting tickled by both Mommy and Daddy! He'll even say "thhkl...thhkl...thhkl!" (tickle, tickle, tickle).
Haha - it cracks us up when he tries to tickle us! He just pushes his hands back and forth...he hasn't figured out the tickle motion yet. Of course, we humor him and act like it really does tickle, which cracks him up!
After nap time and some Christmas shopping, James very sweetly helped me pull the tree and all the Christmas tubs in from the garage. We decided to set up the tree in the guest room so Ian didn't pull it over on himself while we weren't watching. Ian was great at helping us unpack the lights!
He then sat down and read all his new light friends a story. Go figure.
Ian continues to surprise me with how strong he is. He lifted the main support poles out of the box by himself, and those things aren't light!
Getting the second pole out.
It took him a while to figure out what we were doing. Once it clicked, he started handing us branches to put on the poles.
Nothing like a good car break to rest from all that hard work!
Daddy fluffed all the top branches.
Tada!
Signing "tree". Maybe Ian will learn to sign tree this month.
Taking another car break. Or still on the first...I'm not sure.
I started hanging the lights on the tree while James gave Ian a bath, but James has a much better eye for tree lights, so we switched jobs.
Playing with Ian and the lights!
Well, little buddy, tomorrow we will finish decorating the tree. Sleep well! This is how you slept last night - all scrunched between the short sides of your crib. You are not going to be able to comfortably do that much longer!
