Birthday Lunch Fun

For Ian's Birthday lunch, we headed over to Trail Dust. We discovered this fun steakhouse a couple of years back and thought it would be a fun place to take the kiddos. They are very casual - in fact, they will cut off your tie if you dare to wear one inside! The biggest feature though is the awesome two story slide!

The pictures pretty much speak for themselves. I do have to warn you though - there are a ton of them! I'd suggest getting your popcorn and drink ready before you read any further!

Getting Ian's birthday presents from Mommy and Daddy ready to go.

Poor little one year old! He was so tired he fell asleep on the way there. Of course, the nice pitter patter of the rain and the lulling motion of the car probably didn't hurt!

Cowboy (and girl!) cousins.

The whole gang - Nana, Auntie Liz, Mommy, Ian, Daddy, Allie, and Aiden.

Getting ready to eat! They hadn't cut our ties off yet (we're such rebels!), so we had to move them out of the way to eat.

Sliding while waiting for the food! Seriously, who cares how long the food takes to cook when you can have such fun waiting?! Allie is patiently waiting at the top by Daddy and Ian while Aiden takes his turn.

Whee! Allie had fun. Her dress was made of a silky material, so she flew down the slide!

Daddy and Ian!

Nana had a turn too!

And Aunti Lizzie!

Woo-hoo! Aiden and I went down together. By the time the camera flashed, Aiden had already crawled off my lap and was headed up for another go round.

Bye-bye, Daddy's tie!

There goe the fashion statement, Auntie Liz!

The "half-tie" group. Allie didn't want hers cut!

Poor little Ian's teeth were hurting! He got Tooth #5 in on his Birthday Eve and Tooth #6 showed up as his own birthday present to himself! So, we ordered him a dish of ice cream. The waitress also brought him a cupcake with a candle and a large piece of chocolate cake for all of us. Instead of singing to Ian, they have him a big Happy Birthday Yee-haw! He was a little scared...poor guy!

He recovered quickly and enjoyed his ice cream though!

I love this picture of Allie and Ian! She is feeding him the ice cream and they are both cracking up!

Birthday cupcake before total destruction.

After! Yum, yum! (Actually, the cupcake wasn't that good - I was kind of surprised he ate so much of it!)

Aunti Liz feeding her own little boy ice cream. Yummy!

More cupcake mess!

Time to open presents! Ian was only interested in the bow.

Then he was outta there! He had other places to be and things to explore. Here's a little video clip of how disinterested he was in opening his presents!

Auntie Liz and the cousins helped open the rest of them.

Mommy and Daddy were soooo nice and got Ian his own laptop! Hopefully he will leave Mommy's alone now (wishful thinking...I know!). He also got his own phone and a book that sings songs.

Nana, Auntie Liz, Allie, and Aiden got Ian his own personalized Veggie Tales CD!

Ian had so much fun cruising along the stage. He really is getting so much faster!

Haha - Allie and Ian invented their own little game. Allie would crawl along behind Ian and head butt him every so often. He would just laugh and crawl away.

Happy 1st Birthday, little one! We can't believe you are already a year old! We are so glad to get to celebrate this special time with you!
