Saturday was Party Day!! I had been planning for this party for the last five months, so I was looking forward to everything coming together. Again, pictures speak for themselves (or at least their captions do!). Grab your snacks and get comfy - it's another long picture post!
I had several ideas for the party and my mom, sister, and hubby
grudgingly sweetly agreed to help me get them all set up! Here's Daddy getting the feature wall started.

I had planned to just leave the streamers hanging, but Auntie Liz thought they looked better twisted. I had to agree!

Allie was a super sweetheart!! She was so excited about all of my ideas and even threw in a few of her own. She made sure streamers were all around.

Hard at work!

She did a great job - the streamers were long enough to be fun, but not so long they got into the food.

Ta-da!!! Doesn't it look great?!

This is kind of hard to read, but it says "Ian is One!" Ian was sitting at the bottom of the door wearing his little 1 shirt and I couldn't resist taking a picture.

It's starting to look like a party!

Yum! Fruits and veggies. I mean, seriously. You can't have a Veggie Tales themed party without having a veggie tray!

My sister was sooo sweet and got the trays ready. They look soooo goood!

We had fun playing with our food! The fruit tray says "Ian" and the veggie one says "1".

Birthday balloons!

Cousin Hannah, who doesn't even like tomatos, pitched in and sliced them up for us!

Daddy and Grandaddy hanging out!

After we were all done eating (I didn't get a picture of the main food), we cleared the table for cake!! We had Ian's main Veggie Tales pirate cake, a hot pink/black treasure chest to celebrate Aunt Kt's birthday, and a red/white treasure chest to celebrate Grammy Jen's graduation from nursing school!

Happy 1st Birthday, little buddy!

Singing Happy B-day to Ian
Happy Birthday, Aunt Kt! You are an AMAZING aunt - Ian is a lucky little boy to have you as his aunt! You are an awesome sister and sister-in-law too! You are always there for us through thick and thin and your creativity always inspires me! We love you so much!

Hehe...we got sparkler candles and they wouldn't blow out! Aunt Kt had to do the good ole fashioned lick n' pinch to get the flame out!

Happy Graduation Day to you! Happy Graduation Day to you! Happy Graduation Day, dear Grammy Jen!!!!!!! Happy Graduation Day to you! We are extremely proud of you and all your accomplishments! You can bet we will be calling all the time with our medical questions now!

Aiden waiting for a piece of cake! Grammy Jen was nice enough to serve it up for everyone.

Ian got his own little treasure chest.

Yummy!!!

Haha - at one point, he stuffed a huge bite into his face!

Gross, I know! But we gotta have the pix for blackmail later. :-)

Spreading the cake all over his high chair!

Yum, yum, yum, yum!

Smash cake goodness!

Here! I'll share!

Okay, someone come rescue me!

Off to the bathtub! Ian was not happy Mommy wanted another picture!
Laura, these photos are so cute! I know Ian had a great day- you and James are such sweet parents and he is so blessed to have you (and vice versa)! So good to see Kt too! Where was Karin? I will get a DVD of your arboretum images to you soon so you can post them here too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, sweet boy!

ReplyDeleteKay - thank you for your sweet comments! Sorry I am so behind on responding to blog postings. Karin was there too - for some reason, I didn't get many pix of her. She shows up in Part 2 tho! Can't wait to get the DVD of pix!
ReplyDeleteLibby - he loved the cake, but then he loves all things chocolate! And no worries on the pix - I still am trying to catch up on the ones I have!
