The Friday after Thanksgiving was Nana and Pop-Pop's big day - they were getting hitched! It was an early afternoon wedding, so we were thankful that Ian slept late and wouldn't be needing a nap during wedding time!
The wedding location was really pretty and was in a beautiful neighborhood, so we got to enjoy a lovely fall drive on the way there.
As soon as we arrived, Mike and Lissie got busy pouring sand into little glass votives for the sand ceremony.

Daddy got Ian dressed.

And I took pictures! The place was really pretty. I loved how the wedding room was set up!

They even had lights wrapped in tulle decorating the ceiling.

Back wall of the wedding room.

Front left corner of the room where the sand ceremony would be.

Close-up of the front middle of the room. Beautifully decorated for the bride and groom! (And yes, I'm a poet and didn't know it...hehe.)

Front right corner of the room - otherwise known as the place for the unity candle ceremony.

Pretty reception room! It definitely looks even prettier in person.

I loved all the crystalware on the tables!

Haha - my little man was petting the fake doggie.

Nana's pretty wedding dress that Auntie Liz and Aunt Lissie helped her find.

Wedding gift!

Someone was very taken with Nana's dress.

Whoa!! Pretty!

Getting ready for the wedding.

Making sure all the hooks and buttons are in place.

Ian helped too.

Aunt Lissie did the honors of lacing Nana's dress.

She was perfect for the job - she always makes the prettiest bows!

Pretty Nana!

Awww...Ian was still checking Nana out.

Love it!

Time to get the feet dressed.

Little man was getting into everything, so he had to sit on a stool for a minute while we finished getting Nana ready. He wasn't too happy about that.

Beautiful! All dressed and ready to go!

Ian and Nana sharing a sweet moment. (And yes, Ian is wearing tennis shoes. I could only find one black shoe.)

My brothers waiting to walk Nana down the aisle. They were also the ring bearers.

All the pretty different colors of sand set up for the sand ceremony.

There was a different color for each child and grandchild - and, of course, Mom and Frank had their own colors too. Mixing them together in the large glass jar represents all of our lives being blended together.

Frank getting last minute directions from the minister before the wedding.

Aunt Lissie lighting the unity candles.

Here comes the bride!

My brothers giving their Momma away.

I saved Ian's beloved pretzel sticks for the ceremony. Those pretzel sticks and Mrs. Schubert rolls were VERY helpful in keeping him occupied during the wedding!

James filmed the wedding.

Getting married!

James opened with a prayer.

Then the minister read lots of sweet words.

A funny moment...I still have no idea what was funny, but they were laughing. :-)

Exchanging rings.

Mom getting Frank's ring from Mike.

With this ring, I thee wed.

Using their individual candles to light one center candle - a symbol of two lives coming together.

Blowing out their individual candles.

Getting ready to start the sand blending process with their two colors of sand.

Everyone else joining in to pour their sand.

I think they are in love. ;-)

Yup...definitely in love!

Mr. and Mrs.!!

Enjoying a quiet "we did it!" moment together.

Pretty wedding gifts!

While Mom and Frank were getting dressed, James and Kenny had snuck out to decorate the getaway car.

"Just Married" magnets on the back, flags on the front, and a "Just Married" bow securely fastened to the top of the car with tulle.

Getting the marriage license signed.

Congrats Nana and Pop-Pop!! We are so happy for you. (Reception and send-off pictures to come!)
I love the pictures. Your mom looks so happy and her dress is beautiful! It looked like a really nice wedding.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures. I like Lissie's boots!
