Thanksgiving #1

Thanksgiving morning started out super early for us this year! Ian woke up at 4am, laid in bed with us for an hour, and then started signing "more". I could hear him more than see him in the dark, but I knew he was hungry and/or thirsty and would need sustenance before going back to bed. After a couple of Eggo waffles, he still seemed pretty awake, so I turned on Veggie Tales on my laptop for him to watch. Fortunately, he was ready to go back to bed at 6am and slept until 10am!

Not long after Ian woke up, he was ready for a walk! Someone had orded cold weather for Thanksgiving though, and none of us were feeling too in the mood to brave the cold!

So instead he helped Aunt Lissie decorate our holiday plate. The plate comes with all sorts of holiday clings and Ian loved putting the stickers on! He couldn't quite get them to stick so after a while, he'd just touch his finger (with the sticker on it) to the plate and say, "ehhh, ehhh". He knew Aunt Lissie would fix it!

All done! They make a great team!

It was soooo nice having the extra help. While I was getting breakfast ready, Uncle Mike fed Ian some yogurt. Ian was sure happy for all the extra attention!

What else can you have for Thanksgiving breakfast but turkey cinnamon rolls??? Yum!

Hehe...Uncle Mike giving Ian a mohawk.

And what would Thanksgiving breakfast be without Uncle Kenny's monster paintball gun?

Aunt Lissie was sooooooo nice and drove around with me to a billion different stores and gas stations in search of a paper (okay...really just like nine...but still...). We didn't go out for a paper until about noon and almost everywhere was sold out. I was having no luck finding a paper, but on Aunt Lissie's second try, she hit jackpot! Tons of papers. Gotta love Black Friday ads!

Ian wasn't too interested in the ads, but he was happy to help with the cooking!

I was doing something at the stove and all of the sudden I heard, "Get the camera!!" Ian had managed to get in the big bowl and sit down! Of course, he got right up when I got the camera.

There he goes...sitting back down.

Ian was all too happy to relax a bit with Nana and watch Veggie Tales while the food was cooking.

Frank did the honors and carved the turkey.

Ooo - I want that...whatever it is they are looking at!

Uncle Kenny caught up on Pumpkin Chunkin fun while waiting for turkey.

It didn't take too long before the turkey was ready. Bring on the Thanksgiving feast!

After we ate, Uncle Mike was sooo nice and took Ian for a walk in the cold. He wasn't thrilled about the jacket, but he was thrilled to go outside!

Awww...so sweet!

After dinner, it was time for dessert. Ian watched while Nana whipped the cream!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! We definitely have so much to be thankful for!
