Around 3:45, he woke up all and started banging on me. Of course, I woke up Daddy immediately and told him I needed help. (Daddy is a hard sleeper and even though he was right next to us, he was sleeping through the whole thing.) By the time Daddy took Ian off of me, Ian was screaming bloody murder and frantically reaching for me. We decided to give him Tylenol and Orajel and change his diaper. He was NOT happy with any of this and every time Daddy held him, he frantically started clawing, trying to get back to me. It was pretty intense, but fortunately it only lasted about ten minutes. All of the sudden he calmed down, jumped out of my arms and went to go play with his little riding car. And I could tell he was hungry. Go figure.
Poor Daddy was so sweet and offered to lay on the couch while Ian watched Veggie Tales in his Pack N Play. But I knew Daddy was pretty worn out and would be able to help me more the next day if he got sleep. So we sent Daddy back to bed and ate an early breakfast, watched Veggie Tales, and played until about 5am. At that point, Ian decided he wanted to take a bath, which I thought was a great idea. I was hoping taking a bath would help him unwind enough to be able to fall asleep again. The bath totally worked and at 5:30am, he was back in bed. He then slept until 10am!!! I was soooooooo thankful for that!
When he got up at 10am, he was starving again! If I am not fast enough, he will eat his waffle on his own before I can cut it up and put syrup on it. Haha - he's really concentrating on that bite of waffle!
I'm off to bed...hoping for a good night's sleep for all of us!
poor thing!! hope he (and you and daddy!) have a much better rest tonight.
ReplyDeletethat is hilarious about the oatmeal. lol
Awww...I know rough nights are hard, but isn't it amazing how Dad's can sleep through them. ;) I'm glad he went back to sleep until 10! Even if you don't sleep that down time is nice to just rest. Hopefully you have had some better sleep lately!
