Gearing Up

My Christmas break from school is almost over. *sniff, sniff* For the past four weeks, I've only had work and family. And the last two weeks I haven't had much work. And it has been WONDERFUL. I haven't had to push a resistant little boy out the door so I could get to class or work on time. I've been able to play stuffed animal pile up twenty times a day. I've cleaned our fridge, our bedroom, the stove, the tops of the fans, and the Christmas mess in the guest bedroom. I've picked up the living room and done dishes every single day. And I've gotten to see my hubby more than I will in the next four months combined.

And that is with hubby having been really busy working on his winter guard show. This is what he does at night, late into the night. He writes awesome drill and music.

And I fold socks. :-)

Bitty little boy socks. And pile them neatly on the train table. Because I can.

Next Wednesday all of that changes. And I don't know if I'm ready. I love getting to learn so many wonderful things. I love the intellectual challenge. I love knowing that I will have even better job security than I do now (and it's pretty good now in the field that I'm in) should I ever need it. I'm super excited about Language & Gender. I deal with that topic every time I interpret! But I'm not ready for the multitasking, late nights, and stress of tight scheduling. I think I can... I think I can... One more semester (plus a thesis)... I think I can...

  1. I know you can :) I'm not sure how you do it and I know I couldn't handle it, but I know you can do it. Mike and I have discussed on several occasions how we are astounded by what you are doing. Love ya!
