Until lately that is. Getting rid of salicylates, going to Lifetime Wellness, and giving Ian down time in his crib when he gets too revved up has concocted a wonderful harmony of therapies that have allowed Ian's sweet two year old personality to shine through. I don't want to jinx it by saying anything too soon, but we are seeing HUGE improvement. Ian has now been back at daycare five times with NO incidences of hitting, pushing, shoving, etc. Simply amazing! His daycare ladies have been wonderful to him all along, but they are just as impressed and excited about the change as we are!
This morning Ian had his OT appointment with Meredith. We spent most of the time going over the Feingold diet since it was new to her. At the end of our appointment, she remarked that this was the most focused and calm she had seen Ian. He hadn't hit once during the time she was here and he hadn't had to be put in time out at all! He had progressively been getting better and was hitting less, but until she said something, I hadn't realized that he has been in time out at least once (usually 2-3) times during the hour she spent with us. So definitely exciting news for us!
Another positive benefit is how well Ian has been doing on shopping trips. We still have typical two year old resistance and random wanderings away from the cart down the aisle he wants to go down, but on the whole it is better. Here he is modeling his new sunglasses from The Children's Place. (He absolutely hates the sun in his eyes in the car, so we are going to see if he will wear sunglasses.)
And here he is at Hobby Lobby walking along the paintings. He wasn't too happy when Mommy put a stop to it and fussed when I put him in the cart, but he calmed down rather quickly.

I am just so thankful for the good days! I actually didn't want to take Ian to daycare today because I was really enjoying my day with him and that was a wonderful feeling! (Normally as much as I love him, I'm ready for a break from the constant activity!)

I'm so glad things are starting to fall into place!!! Fingers crossed that things keep improving!
