Easter Pictures Part Two

We decided to try the next round of pictures indoors to see if they would come out any better.

Ian's Easter goodies - thanks to Grandaddy and Grammy Jen for the very fun pinwheel and duck!

Checking out all the fun stuff.

Ian loved the large plastic eggs! He would chase them all over the house.

Crazy hair, as always!

Oh boy!

He wasn't too sure what to think about the bunny ears!

In fact, he tried to get them off! But, he must have thought they were attached to his shirt because he kept trying to pull his shirt off!

Momentary unhappiness - Momma, are we done yet???

Playing in the basket.

I wish the lighting had been better, but we still got some decent pictures. (And he cheered right back up.)

Momma's cutie pie.

I love the smile (and the runny nose) in this one!

Say cheese!

More fun with the great pinwheel.

Okay, Mom! I'm really all done now.

Playing with the little lamb blanky he got at one of his baby showers.

He had LOTS of fun playing with the Easter grass!

As much as I love taking pictures of my little boy, I have to say what I enjoyed most about this Easter was this:

I know what you are thinking. Seriously? Veggie Tales? Little veggies that hop around and sing songs and spoof other well-known movies and songs? Don't I know the importance of Easter? Ummm...yes, seriously this was the best part and yes, I do know the importance of Easter. But this little fairy put a new spin on a traditional phrase for me.

This little gal sang a very nice, non-spoofy song (click here to hear it) about the Hope of Easter. I don't think I had really thought of Easter in terms of hope before. But that hope is extremely important. Otherwise, what would the point of Jesus' resurrection have been? In fact, I had heard the phrase "Jesus is risen! He is risen indeed!" so many times this year that it was starting to go in one ear and out the other. And I believe in the resurrection! I can't imagine how that phrase must sound to those who think it is just a nice story or some myth. Booorrrrrrring! For me though, it goes from boring to amazing pretty quickly when I look back over my life and see all of the answered prayers. The hope that every person who believes in Jesus gets to lay hold of is a crazy good thing and it makes even the hardest situations bearable. It has done a lot for my general outlook on life and I am quite grateful to have this hope to fall back on day in and day out. Happy Easter - Happy Hope Day - everyone!
